All better

SEE YA! TWISTER AND I ARE OUTTA HERE!

YEAH, I LIKE CHEERIOS, WHAT OF IT? (notice the one stuck under her chin)

Ginny-bear is up and running again. Turns out she had Roseola. The day after the last post she broke out in a rash, which the nurse had been asking about and told us to expct. It only lasted 2 days, and didn't appear to be causing her any discomfort. She still enjoys blocks, peeking out of her tent, and long Tigger rides in the sunset.

More fever

Ginny is still dealing with her fever today. She has been a little more irritable though, so that is bothersome. She will be going to the Dr tomorrow if she wakes up with a fever again. We'll still have to get up tonight to continue checking on her, which is a real drag. Getting up every three hours, even if you are only up 5 minutes (one time it was 40 though), still really wears you out!

Ginny's other favorite activity is playing in her Pooh tent. This is a tent that I found for $4 at a garage sale, I think it has been the best toy she has yet. Every morning she crawls in, and giggles, sits for a second, and then peeks out to see if you are watching for her. I usually say, "Where did Ginny go, I lost her again..?" and then, "OH! THERE SHE IS!!!" She just laughs and laughs and thinks this is the greatest game ever.

Uncle Brian is visiting today and played in the tent with her. I don't know if she quite knew what to make of her tent getting up and walking. haha.

fever

Ginny is not feeling too well today, she woke up with a fever. I took her to the Dr this morning, wanting to be sure it was not another ear infections. Ears, ok, "viral" i was told. So, she has been on tylenol and motrin all day. She is happy for the most part when the fever is down, I have been told that is a godd sign.

Ginny is still thinking about walking. She is standing up on her own for longer periods of time, but still sits and then crawls to get where she wants to go. I don't think it will be much longer before she is doing her first steps. Her first molar is almost completely through now.

Her hair continues to get thicker and thicker, and a little bit longer too. I am attachign a picture of her favorite night time activiy, bath time! Notice that although she has many bath toys, she is not happy unless she can also get the soap bottles in the tub, which I now hide b/c I was worried about a cap getting loose and too much soap giving her an infection. Worry worry.

Ginny's other favorite activity is what Bill calls Tigger Jetskiing. She has a Tigger rocking horse, which he pushes her on. This has now evolved to pulling (with pajamas) and she stands up, often bending her knees, pumping her butt up and down, like she is on a jetski, taking the waves. SO cute. We have a couple videos, which will go on you tube later!

goodnite, until two horus, for me, which is when I have to get up and check Ginny Bear's temperature again.

OOpsie

Yep, its been a long since there has been an update, and of course there are a lot of things to share, but Ginny is currently in the hall crawling this way (almost bedtime milk time) so the opportunity still is not presenting itself. Horrible. There are at least some new youtube videos up, with little blurbs, so you can SEE for yourself all of the growing up she has done lately! I will be on here to blog more later. There is just soooo soo soo much to do in my "down time" when she naps. Like cook, clean, clean some more, do dishes, watch Chino kill a cat, you know, everyday Mommy and Wife stuff.
So, enjoy our new videos of our quickly growing girl!!

I should note that at this time (8 pm here) that videos are uploaded and still uploading. Then they have to "review" them, so it may be a couple hours until they are ready!

Isn't she so pleased?

Well, does she look happy here or what?

Well, as I was posting the "she sat up" blog, Sassy was stirring in her crib, talking away. I went in to greet her, and here is what I saw. We had to take the mobile down, it seemed like a sad milestone to reach. She loves that mobile.

She sat up

Last Friday I left the kitchen and Sass was on her back in the pack 'n' play. I came back, and she was very pleased with herself, sitting up, playing. Today I finally got to see how she performed this little feat, and again it made her so happy to do it. She sure is growing up!

Sassy is feeling better from the stomach bug she had on Saturday. I have been slower to recover, I spent most of yesterday in bed, but I feel pretty good today.
The top photo was taken yesterday. Ginny was sitting on Daddy, chatting away on the bed, playing with her stuffed Chino. The other photo is of Avery Island, home to the Tobasco plant. That is a live oak, covered in spanish moss with azaleas in bloom underneath.
Sassy has fun playing with Uncle Brian, he makes crazy sounds!

Whose baby is this?

Surely it's not mine (yes it is, and don't call me Shirley). Sassy is growing like crazy. Today her top two front teeth emerged, yes at the same time!! She has been an angel too, for two coming in at the same time. Sleeping well, with no other signs other than sucking in on her lip, kind of smacking it.

Yesterday she was sitting next to me playing with her blocks and she reached around, grabbed my shirt and pulled herself up. Standing holding my shirt with the other hand on my leg. She just grinned and grinned when I clapped for her and said YAY!!

Bill will be home from Paris tomorrow night, I hope he recognizes her :)

Moving forward & blog changes

ginny crawled forward today, just one push on each knee before she went down.. but it won't be long, a day or two, before she is moving more.. even though Daddy said not to do it while he was in Paris! Already not listening, haha.

Also, I have changed the comment option. I know people who are not blog or google users have wanted to leave comments and were unable. I finally dug around and was able to find the setting to change this. It should now be open to whomever.

Fun time

here is Sassy in her Valentine's swing! Yes, the most interesting part to her was the strap. haha. Dad made her go way too high, so I am in the video saying "not so high.. not THAT HIGH DAD". hah.
Chino has finally formed a food alliance with Sass. Here you can see that he is camped out by her high chair waiting for something to fall. Previously he has deemed this an unworthy task, but apparently sweet potatoes and corn speak to his palate.

owie

Last week Ginny got a flu booster that made her sick. Fever all of one day, then congestion and a horrible cough to follow. She is slowly on the mend- Wednesday was a disaster. She wasn't herself and woke up frequently that night. I took her in Thursday to the Dr and was told she had an infection in both ears. The Dr said she was a wonderful baby to still be so alert, happy and non-fussy. She is taking amoxicillian, so far so good. Bill and I are both allergic. I have had the humidifier running day and night and her congestion is easing up. The cough is becoming less frequent. Wish I could say the same for myself. You know things are getting bad when your car is yellow from pollen. Unfortunately it leads to bronchitis down here. ick.

She's on the move!

Sass started to crawl backwards today!! She has also started getting her legs up underneath her in an attempt to move forward, but really only succeeds in scooching along on her face.

She is at it again

ginny is giving the world updates with further blogging messages. This is what she does while I am in the bedroom. I will say I am in here working, the room was a mess, but mostly I am goofing around on the computer that I kind of wish we hadn't of bought (for this reason). haha. Right now she is trying without much success to get the keyboard cord close enough to eat. Well she has it. there is a new video up, and here are some more pics! a flower bill picked for, pre and post mouthing.

new videos

here are some pictures of sassy with her friends, douglas and audrey. Audrey is the daughter of a neighbor around the corner. We have been going to her church lately to meet some new pals for Sass, since there aren't really any at our church. It is going ok, but I really miss FUMC!
Sass is also becoming great friends with Twister. He is always around when she is playing on her blanket, and is very tolerant of her pulling his fur and ears. She hasn't quite been able to get down the open-palmed pet yet. She is working on it.

Ginny likes to blog

Bill has set Sass up with her very own keyboard so she can blog, check her FaceBook and MySpace too. She loves to her the keys click and be able to do it herself!!

Sass also knows how to give kisses now. Every time I kiss her I will say "kisses" and now if I say it, without actually doing it, she will lean in, mouth open wide to give some love!! Too cute!
The top picture is Sassy's first Valentine flower from Daddy. She smooshed it up and tried to eat it. Before that she did study it quite intensely and decided it was worthy of eating. Cute. She also get her first swing, to hang from one of our oaks, as her Valentines gift.

She likes duck

Sassy is getting bigger than ever, now weighing in at 15lbs14oz at her 6 month checkup, which was last week. She is sitting up on her own, unassisted by me, or the boppy. She has a great time playing with her toys in front of her now. Last week I bought her an inflatable duck tub that sits in the big bathrub, so she can sit up and play and splash around. She LOVES it. I love it too. now I can wash her with both hands and not have to worry about her sliding and hitting her head or anythign like that. If she does lean, she lands on the soft sided duck. It also quacks, which is great. Chino comes in and looks around, probably wondering where his tasty treat is.

She is also doing wonderful with eating real food. I have started making her food a little chunkier and she is doing really well mashing the pieces with her tongue against the roof of her mouth. So far she likes everything I have made, although the jury is still out on green beans. This week we are getting her 6 month pictures taken. Last week she had scratched her self and had a boo boo on her face, and then got her shots.. which make her "not right" for a day or two. She is too cute in all her big girl 9 month clothes!!
